Learning about the Chinese Zodiac

Today we learnt about the Chinese New Year. Allen and Leo shared the story of the monster who doesn't like the colour red. We watched a video about how the rat became the first animal of the Chinese zodiac. Then we wanted to find out about about our own Chinese zodiac. This ended up in a maths lesson because many of us didn't know what year we were born in! We're now making lanterns to display in the hall as we will celebrate Chinese New Year as a school community on Friday.
