Creating a Scene
We were inspired by these photos by French photographer Samsofy. We wanted to create our own Lego scenes and then write about the setting and the characters (because we have been learning how to write engaging setting and character descriptions!) Here's a sneak peak at our pictures. Our writing is to follow.
Kite Flying
This week Room 17 made their own kites. We learnt that one way Matariki, the Maori new year, is celebrated is by flying kites. Even though there wasn't much wind today, we had a wonderful time running around, trying out our kites.

Teach Me Tuesday Week 10
Today we learnt all about how to look after a bunny and we met Sasha's cute bunny Toby! Then Aidan taught us how to make borax crystals. We have to wait patiently until tomorrow to see what they're going to turn out like.

Teach Me Tuesday Week 8 and 9!
We had awesome fun in Week 8 learning how to make silly putty with Luke. Then Isabel taught us how to draw dogs and draw accessories for them. Last week Alex had us perfecting our soccer skills, which we put in to action with a soccer game. Then Bella played us a video, showing how to make sushi. Afterwards we got to try a piece of her delicious homemade sushi!!

Ropere's Decimal Lesson
The Ropere maths group have been learning how to add decimals. They made this video to explain how to do it!
Mystery Skype
Today we had a Mystery Skype session! We had to ask questions to guess where in the world the other class was. They guessed first what country we were in but we guessed what school they went to first. It was lots of fun! We all had special jobs to do, like mappers, questioners, answerers and a few other things too. At the end we sang them our waiata. We recommend you try it and we can't wait to try again.
