Mini Maths Teachers

Last week the Room 17 students planned their own maths lessons to teach one another. They could do it on their own or in pairs. Today 5 groups are being taught. We have Zander teaching how to order 3-digit numbers, Samuel and Zachary are doing addition to 30, Isabel and Simone are doing 5x tables, Shyam and Aidan are working on how to add decimals and Grace is teaching her group about fractions. They are using Kahoot, games, equipment, worksheets and whiteboards to deliver their teaching!

Hut Building!

Our hands-on homework this week was to build a hut! Look at all the creative huts we made. This idea was from Ava. Thanks Ava for such a fun home learning activity.

Teach Me Tuesday - Week 6

We had two fabulous presentations today. Ava taught us how to sing Happy Birthday in Polish and Zander taught us facts about the author Dav Pilkey and how to make a Flip-O-Rama!

The Cow and the Beanstalk

Once upon a time there lived a half human, half cow. He lived in a big house in Wellington. One day Mr Cow was chomping on some grass when he let out a loud fart.It went "ppppprrpp" and it smelt just like beans. Suddenly, an enormous, very tall beanstalk was growing up to the clouds. Mr Cow decided to climb up it so he could see what was at the top. "I wonder if there is more grass at the top?" he said. When he reached the top, he let out a gasp. He saw something totally amazing.....

100 Word Challenge - Leo and Zander

I was on a plane at night time. Everyone was asleep except me. Last time lots of men were snoring but this time the silence was deafening. Then I put my earphones on and watched a movie. Suddenly the sun came out. I saw land. A baby burst out crying. Lots of people woke up just then. It became noisy again and the silence was gone. The plane was about to land at Sydney airport. When I looked out the window I saw something like snow but it was actually clouds. There was a big bumpy, thumpy noise. We landed.
