Mini Maths Teachers

Last week the Room 17 students planned their own maths lessons to teach one another. They could do it on their own or in pairs. Today 5 groups are being taught. We have Zander teaching how to order 3-digit numbers, Samuel and Zachary are doing addition to 30, Isabel and Simone are doing 5x tables, Shyam and Aidan are working on how to add decimals and Grace is teaching her group about fractions. They are using Kahoot, games, equipment, worksheets and whiteboards to deliver their teaching!

Fireworks Fun

Our hands on homework for week 5 was to have some fun with fireworks! Not real ones, but to draw pictures, write poems, play with some online firework games and to share photos from family Guy Fawkes celebrations. We even had some fireworks made in Minecraft! Here are some of our creations.

As we were taking photos this week in class, we thought it would be fun to take a great photo at home. What do you think of our photos?

Teach Me Tuesday Week 8 and 9!

We had awesome fun in Week 8 learning how to make silly putty with Luke. Then Isabel taught us how to draw dogs and draw accessories for them. Last week Alex had us perfecting our soccer skills, which we put in to action with a soccer game. Then Bella played us a video, showing how to make sushi. Afterwards we got to try a piece of her delicious homemade sushi!!

Issy and her Monarch butterfly

Over the weekend I have been looking after a chrysalis which hatched into a Monarch butterfly! My Nana gave me a chrysalis hanging over a jar which needed looking after until it was ready to hatch. When the butterfly hatched my sister and I decided to call it Crisscross and we had to put her out in the garden to let her wings dry. She seemed to love crawling all over me and that was tickly! The day after she hatched her wings had dried out enough and she flew off.
